First step is a doozy: A Tacoma skydiver became the first person to survive a jump from a plane without a parachute, landing in a special net after falling 25,000 feet (Page A2).
The skydiver was still prepared for an emergency; he packed an extra pair of underwear.
Hokey Pokemon: Herald columnist Ryan Davis has some tips on how small businesses can capitalize on the Pokemon Go game that sends players out into the world searching for Pokemon critters they can see on their smart phones. Davis suggest downloading the game and purchasing “lures” to attract Pokemon and posting signs to alert hunters (Page A6).
Or, small businesses can attract those who still don’t get the Pokemon craze with signs advertising their shop as a “Pokemon Go Away” zone.
Don’t know much about history: On this day in 1957, the United States and Canada agreed to create the North American Air Defense Command (Today in History, Page B4).
