Theft suspect killed in Maple Valley shootout

MAPLE VALLEY — A truck theft suspect was killed early Tuesday in a shootout with the owner in Maple Valley.

King County deputies say the owner caught a man and woman inside his truck just after midnight. Both men pulled guns and exchanged shots.

Deputy Charlie Akers told KIRO the suspect died at the scene.

Deputies found the woman in a stolen car the couple had apparently driven to the scene. She was arrested for investigation of burglary.
