ELMA — A Grays Harbor County sheriff’s officer says a train struck and killed a man lying on rail tracks about 2 miles outside of Elma.
Undersheriff Rick Scott said the train sounded its horn Thursday morning and the conductor saw some movement from the man but he was not able to get out of the way in time.
Detectives say the man may have been a transient. They found a bicycle nearby and many personal possessions. The man was not immediately identified.
