Employees with Community Transit and the Everett Community Service Office of the Department of Social and Health Services collected gifts and raised money for Giving Tree programs to benefit 84 high school students in Everett and Mill Creek.
Each of the teens is considered “unaccompanied,” or not in the custody of a legal guardian. Winter break can be a particularly tough time for these teens to find support.
Gifts were wrapped and packed into backpacks along with hygiene kits, warm clothing and gift cards. The filled packs were then delivered to high schools to distribute through the Everett School District’s Kids in Transition program.
The IBI Group donated the backpacks. The Everett Silvertips donated sweatshirts.
