U.S. 2 briefly shut down after gunfire in Gold Bar

GOLD BAR — Gunfire in Gold Bar caused U.S. 2 to be briefly shut down Friday evening.

A man in his 70s reportedly began shooting inside his house, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.

Police responded, and the highway was closed about 5:50 p.m.

Within 20 minutes, the man put the gun away and began cooperating with police, Ireton said.

No injuries were reported.
