Water main break closes Everett street

EVERETT — A water main break in Everett early Wednesday morning caused W. Marine View Drive to be closed for hours.

The 12-inch cast iron pipe began spewing water about 3 a.m. near the 300 block, city spokeswoman Meghan Pembroke said.

The road reopened to travel about 7:30 a.m. At least one lane will remain closed through the weekend, Pembroke said.

“On Monday, we’ll repair a catch basin on the shoulder and we’ll replace the asphalt on Tuesday and Wednesday,” she said.

Crews still were evaluating potential damage. There are no homes in the area. No local businesses were believed to be affected.
