EVERETT — Snohomish County Public Utility District had about 900 customers without power Sunday evening, according to the PUD’s website.
Most of those people with power outages Sunday evening live in the northern and eastern areas of the county.
With a windy evening predicted by the National Weather Service, PUD officials asked customers to call 425-783-1001 in the event of a power outage.
In addition, if you see a downed power line, PUD officials ask you to stay far away. The line could carry enough electricity to kill a person. If a power line falls on an occupied car, call 911.
The state Department of Emergency Management also issued a statement asking people to look out for their neighbors, especially those who are elderly or disabled. State officials also reminded people to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning by keeping generators, barbecues and kerosene heaters outside.
People without power should try to keep their refrigerators closed to preserve food.
