BELLINGHAM — Winds Monday prevented a barge with a crane from moving into position at a Bellingham marina where officials believe two people died when their boat burned and sank.

Port of Bellingham spokeswoman Carolyn Casey says they hope to position the crane Tuesday at the Squalicum Harbor marina. Divers will attach cables to debris.

The top priority is finding the bodies of 43-year-old Jim Langei and 33-year-old Sterling Taylor. They owned the America’s Cup coffee shop near the marina and lived on board a 42-foot boat.

Their boat was one of as many as 10 boats destroyed in Friday’s boathouse fire.

Officials expect the investigation of the cause and cleanup work will take several weeks.
