EVERETT — Two people were detained Thursday after a burglary south of Everett.
They reportedly were traveling in a stolen car with a pit bull named Lucy, who also was taken into custody.
The incident started about 9:15 a.m. on 115th Place SE, near Seattle Hill Road. A woman was returning home and found a man leaving the place carrying an electric handsaw, said Shari Ireton, a spokeswoman with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
“She confronted him,” Ireton said. “He swung at her with a crowbar, missing her.”
He took off in the car. It was later found nearby. The man, 41, and a female companion, 31, also were located.
Detectives remained with the car into the afternoon, awaiting a judge’s permission to conduct a search.
