EVERETT — Rescue crews on Friday pulled a 31-year-old woman to safety after her car became trapped upside down in a ditch in Everett.
Police and firefighters were summoned about 7:30 a.m. to the area of 12th Street NE, on the north end of town east of I-5, officer Aaron Snell said. A passerby saw the sport utility vehicle upside down in the ditch, partially submerged.
Firefighters had to cut open the SUV to get the woman out, Snell said.
She was taken to a local hospital for treatment of hypothermia and minor injuries. She was expected to survive. Investigators believe the SUV went into the ditch around dusk Thursday.
