SHELTON — Police in Shelton said they’ve made an arrest in a reported attack on a woman who was walking along Olympic Highway. The woman told police a man tried to abduct her but she was able to get away after biting his hand during a brief struggle.

Police said the 33-year-old woman flagged down a Mason County sheriff’s deputy early Saturday to report the attack.

The deputy alerted local police, who stopped a dark-colored pickup truck leaving the area with its headlights out. Police said the driver had a fresh, bleeding injury to his hand.

Police said a 55-year-old man was booked into jail for investigation of second-degree kidnapping and fourth-degree assault.
