SPOKANE — State troopers say a wrong-way driver caused an injury accident early Sunday near the Washington and Idaho border on I-90.

KHQ-TV reports the vehicle driven by 28-year-old Edward McElmurry of Greenacres was driving eastbound on I-90 in the westbound lanes around 3 a.m. when he collided with another car. The accident blocked westbound lanes for several hours while authorities investigated.

McElmurry and the three people from the other car were taken to a local hospital for treatment. McElmurry is in custody on vehicular assault charges. The accident is under investigation.
