SELAH — A Yakima County sheriff’s spokesman says officers fatally shot a man who fired at them several times during a three-hour standoff at a rural property east of Selah.
The Yakima Herald-Republic reported that Chief Criminal Deputy John Durand says a car prowl incident earlier Friday led police to the property, where a man refused to come out of a motor home and began to shoot at officers.
No officers were injured.
The sheriff’s office did not identify either the man who was killed or the officers who fired.
Durand says an iPhone taken in the car prowl was tracked to the Selah property.
