KALAMA — A temporary firefighter with the Kalama Fire Department is accused of stealing a pickup truck from a fire station.
The Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that deputies arrested Rian Struckman, 39, over the weekend after received a tip.
A man told police that Struckman gave him a laptop computer to thank him for giving him a ride to the fire station. The fire department confirmed the laptop had been stolen.
Struckman is being held in the Cowlitz County Jail on investigation of burglary, theft and other charges. It was not immediately clear if he had a lawyer.
A pickup truck owned by the Kalama Fire Department was stolen from the fire station during a burglary Sept. 6. It was later recovered in Gresham, Oregon.
A Jeep owned by a firefighter was also taken and recovered in the Portland area one week after the burglary.
