Ride in same style as your bank deposit: Elon Musk, the billionaire behind Tesla Motors and SpaceX, is now proposing a new mode of transportation he’s calling Hyperloop: passengers in capsules would be propelled through tubes at speeds of more than 700 mph. But Musk says someone else will have to pick up the idea and run with it; he’s focused on his other projects right now.
Figures. And we were all set to step out of our house tomorrow morning, take the moving sidewalk to the garage, ride our Segway to the neighborhood flying car depot and make our way to the Hyperloop station.
In a theme park far, far away: The Walt Disney Co., which bought the rights to the “Star Wars” movies last year, is hinting at adding “Star Wars” rides at Disneyland.
But to keep ticket prices down, Disney is recycling some of the older rides: The animatronic children in the “It’s a Small World” ride are being fitted with Ewok costumes, and Goofy has been booted from his Playhouse and replaced by Jar Jar Binks.
Get our your butter knives: Protesters poured red paint on the Iowa State Fair’s famous 600-pound butter sculpture of a cow. But the paint was scraped off and the butter cow was on display the next day.
Not wanting anything go to waste, state fair workers took the mixture of red paint and butter, dipped it in batter, deep fried it and sold it on a stick.
