Any doubts about Obama’s intentions or desire to be the president of all the people of this country have been put to rest with his petulant, spoiled child-like tirade at his cherished gun control legislation being defeated, notably with the aid of many Democratic Senators. His calling the NRA “liars” only confirms that opinion.
Obama’s past words (they are on record) concerning his belief that no one should have guns, and his efforts to that end as an Illinois senator made it impossible to believe his more recent claims that “we’re not coming after your guns.” His shameful exploitation of the Newtown tragedy only added to his lack of credibility. The mainstream has been working overtime to excoriate the NRA and its membership. That also applies to a number of Herald readers of recent memory. They might be quite surprised, and probably chagrined, to know just how many respected residents of their communities are active shooters and NRA members. They are doctors, merchants, church members, union members, students, the entire spectrum of our nation.
To all of those who hate the NRA and its members, I make the following offer. You stop telling lies about the damage you think the NRA is doing to this nation, and I’ll stop telling the truth about what, for example, the NEA, ACLU, and SPLC are doing to it! Fair enough?
