Bad actors all around

Surfing the vast cultural wasteland: Several TV series are wrapping up their seasons with special guests. Heavy metal legends Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath perform in the season finale of “CSI,” 10 p.m. Wednesday on CBS.

OK. Black Sabbath performs. Ozzy shuffles in and out of the crime scenes and the morgue, yelling, “Sharon! Sharon! I can’t find the (bleep) TV remote!”

“Mad Men” and English dogs: The success of movie sequels and episodic TV series hasn’t escaped the notice of PBS, which for the fall season, is preparing a “Great Performances” mini-series that combines Shakespeare’s “Richard II,” parts one and two of “Henry IV” and “Henry V” into a chronological narrative.

Nor should you be surprised that it’s called “Breaking Bard.”

Buzz senses trouble ahead, Kemosabe: Actor Johnny Depp, who appears in the Disney summer blockbuster “The Lone Ranger” as the masked lawman’s sidekick, Tonto, has made an effort to more accurately portray an American Indian.

Depp learned his lesson after angering pirate groups for his portrayal in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies as a drunken, flamboyant, booty-grubbing buccaneer. Actual pirates, also known as corporate executives, are less flamboyant.
