A big thank you to President Obama for the well thought-out and passionate news conference on Wednesday. I wish the maximum amount of bullets was lower than 10, but it is a start. Multi-round assault rifles have no way of living compatibly within the Second amendment. They are weapons of mass destruction. We have recently witnessed it.
The insensitivity of The NRA infuriates me as they navigate away from the sorrow and deep hurt.
The tired saying “Guns do not kill people, people do” does not hold water in the depraved society in which we live.
The means for evil people to gain tools for killing needs to be reduced. Multi-clip weapons is the perfect place to start.
We will now watch the courage or non-courage of our Congress. I fear most will cave into the pressure of the NRA.
The Sandy Hook consoling speech can be used in other states as required; Congress will express shock and sorrow, and life goes on.
Perhaps David Keene can be present to comfort the next group of mourning parents, because it is highly unlikely we have not seen the last.
Please write your Congressional leaders and urge them to take action.
