Conservatives see it the other way

I am amused by those who are complaining about the passing of Initiative 1183. Some have even blamed Tea Party members for this. It would be more rational to blame conservative ideology, of which I am a proponent. I embrace the conservative concept of over-taxing a non-essential luxury, especially when revenue is promised to our public schools.

As gullible as it may be to believe this, at least the concept is honorable. Revenue was also promised to public schools by promoters of the state lottery. We all know how that turned out. However, I voted no on I-1183 because my liver is shot and I am not that naïve. Apparently I-1183 passed because most people have healthy livers but are naïve as hell.
