I write to correct the impression in your Monday article on the foreclosure deadline for the Everett Mall owner. (“Everett Mall’s owner faces July 9 foreclosure deadline.”) It misled in an important respect, to wit, the mall in fact consists of more than one parcel that are owned by different companies. While it is true that the portion of the mall owned and/or managed by Steadfast Commercial Properties is subject to foreclosure, the part of the mall owned by CDSN LLC, a C.D. Stimson Company subsidiary, including the Macy’s store, the Goodyear Tire Store and the retail building with a Vitamin Shoppe, Jimmy Johns, etc. is not in foreclosure and there is no risk of any such event.
