A county councilmember is more than a role model, although being a role model is important. Nate Nehring’s accomplishments indicate he has, and should continue, to represent us on the council council.
What parent wouldn’t want their child to accomplish what he has? His maturity, abilities and accomplishments are noteworthy for a man of his age. He has completed college, has chosen a profession of teaching — though he could go far politically, should he choose. He is married and has served on the planning commission, previously.
I haven’t met his father but it seems he’s following in his footsteps. You get to know your parents’ friends. If deserved, why not get their endorsement?
Councilman Nehring’s greatest accomplishment thus far is saving Snohomish County taxpayers $150 million. He made a motion to renovate the courthouse rather than tear it down and rebuild it. Sam Low, the only other Republican on the council, seconded the motion and Terry Ryan (one of the three Democrats) voted yes with them. (Thanks to all three of you.)
Though I can’t vote for Nehring or Low because neither is in my district, I can donate to their campaigns, as can others. Contact them through their voters pamphlet information. I’m sure they would like to hear from all.
