The heroin/opioid epidemic and homelessness crisis that is facing our county and so many other counties across the state and nation has affected nearly everyone in one sense or another. These are extremely difficult issues which require thoughtful deliberation and the forming of key partnerships in order to find meaningful solutions.
Our Snohomish County Councilman Nate Nehring has taken the initiative in forming those partnerships. Nate acknowledges that while we ought to help those in need to get back onto their feet, we must also address those who refuse assistance and are intent on continuing lifestyles which include abusing drugs, committing crimes and leaving needles in our schoolyards and parks. Nate has partnered with our law enforcement in order to give them more tools in cleaning up nuisance properties and removing squatters, dedicate county resources to the Smokey Point region where drug abuse and homelessness are rampant, and is leading the fight against the horrific safe-injection-sites that Seattle has resorted to.
We need strong leaders to take on these difficult issues and County Councilman Nate Nehring has done just that. Nate has my full support and I encourage you to vote for him in the upcoming election.
