Emblem, mascot not in sync?

I’ve lived in this area for a couple of years now and noticed something, but nobody in my circle of friends has an answer for this question: If Marysville Pilchuck High School calls itself The Tomahawks, why do they use a feathered war spear (ala Florida State University) as their emblem? I searched online for about 30 seconds and found tons of tomahawk stickers available. Can anybody provide an answer to this burning question? Respectfully,
