The city of Everett will benefit from mayoral candidate Judy Tuohy’s leadership style and wide range of experience as a leader and public servant. As Everett has looked at who will be its next mayor over the past few months we have had the opportunity to hear consistently that Judy is a strong collaborator in her community and in the Schack Art Center organization. We’ve heard that she leads strongly yet in a positive manner that seems to cause others to get on board and make things happen. In her City Council role she demonstrates that all of Everett is important to her and supports having all of Everett represented on the council. Judy Tuohy pushed getting the South Everett Library branch improved so it can better serve citizens there. As the Schack director Judy has staff who like and respect her and enthusiastically support their organization as individuals empowered by her leadership approach. I personally appreciate that over the last 25 years Judy has supported programming that serves youth in our juvenile justice system. It has been key to her that the programming contain positive elements that have the potential support these youth going forward.
What makes Judy so good for Everett is that she would not only address pressing social needs we have in the community such as homelessness and the substance addiction but she has the motivation and capacity to lead all of Everett to a stronger place, building assets and encouraging communication within the community in ways that can help equip us all to stand strong in making Everett a city that problem solves from its position of overall health.
That’s the kind of mayor and city I want!
