The Everett Public Schools Foundation will celebrate 29 years of service this year. As a private non-profit foundation established in 1985, its early mission was to build community support to increase academic achievement in the Everett Public Schools. Recently, we have updated our strategic plan role to include investing resources to inspire innovation in the classroom as well as to support our students in basic ways to help advance their academic success.
This work has been made possible by hundreds of board members from all walks of our community. Each person brings with them a passion for helping all learners in the Everett Public Schools. This energy and passion when coupled with outstanding donor support has created a thriving organization that helps thousands of Everett Public School students achieve success each year. As a point of reference, since the 2007-2008 school year, our board and office team has worked to deliver over $1.2 million in program support to Everett School District students and staff and over $270,000 in scholarships to our graduating seniors.
We are therefore filled with pride that two of our board members, Ted Wenta and Traci Mitchell, have taken their passion for education to the next level of advocacy for student success as new members of the Everett Public Schools Board of Directors. We applaud their commitment and thank them for their service. To learn more, visit www.epsfoundation.org
