Noah Haglund’s Nov. 20 article, “County Council OKs tax increase to bolster budget,” on tax increases above the double levy whammies, caught me off guard from working a citizens group economic development approach to create revenue for the residents of the community of Lynnwood, to avoid threats of property tax increase to residents who are currently making choices whether milk and butter for the family or paying the electric bills.
Can’t our representatives in the County Council, both Sullivan and Wright, while sitting on the fence, think of something creative like creating revenues on existing county resources? By the way, how is the evaluation whether existing programs funded by the county government are really working? Put a grease on the engine of the evaluations on all programs. Careful now, do not fall off the fence, you guys, may create unnecessary controversies. Bad for reelections.
