Thanks so very much to Julie Mulhstein for her June 20 column, “Party to mark reopening of Bayside Park, P-Patch’s 20-year anniversary”. We had never heard of Bayside Park and P-Patch. The next day we drove over there. The park is small but great and the P-Patch was so incredible. We looked and walked the complete trail. We learned so many different ways and things to do in our garden here at home. The gardeners really had some great ideas.
We saw the beautiful benches that the young man, who lost his mother, had placed there. I remember when her horrible accident happened. All of a sudden here walked her son, Kevin McCollum … carrying balloons in his hands. He and his wife were putting them on the trail. I told him hello … that I’d read Julie’s article in the paper and that was what brought us there. We had such a nice visit with him. My heart went out to him as I felt the presence of his mother right there with us.
Julie, you write such inspiring stories … please keep up the good work and thanks again.
