Regarding the Jan. 14 letter, “Portrayals of Israel historically wrong”:
I find it very disturbing when a person feels the need to explain away attacks by a terrorist organization as “a protest.” Surely this individual knows the difference between carrying signs and lobbing rockets into community.
The one thing I do know is that until Israel gets serious about terrorism along its borders, this will be repeated time and time again. Security can best be achieved by killing those that terrorize, destroying the homes they live in, deporting their families, burning their crops and poisoning any water supplies in the immediate area. War is not pretty and those who practice it need a lesson in how terrible the cost can be.
