I am thankful for gratitude because it makes me focus on the positive and therefore enhances my life.
I am thankful for people: People who spend money and many years to become doctors so they can help me and my loved ones when we are sick or injured; people who learn skills so I can hire them to do things for me that I can’t do for myself; people who dedicate themselves to helping others; people who stock the grocery store shelves; people who teach children; people who write books; people who smile and say hello; people who are honest; people who respond to emergencies; people who are kind to animals and, of course, most of all the people who are my family members and dear friends.
I’m thankful for home and electricity and clean water; for the beauty of the earth and my eyes with which I can behold it. I appreciate my daily bread and waving fields of wheat and the farmers who know just the right day to plant and to harvest. I’m grateful for the intricacy of a snowflake and for all the things my imagination can see in the clouds.
Mostly, I am thankful for my Christian faith that teaches me how I should act and how I should treat other people. May I live to give to and appreciate others.
