Hold the pickle, hold the taxes

Do you want poutine with that? Burger King, the nation’s second-largest burger chain, is buying Canada’s Tim Horton’s doughnuts chain for $11.4 billion and moving its headquarters to Canada to avoid paying U.S. corporate taxes.

Sure, Burger King will save some money, but have they seen what Canadians do with french fries?

Drowning man: Heavy rains in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert have turned the grounds for Burning Man, a modern-day Woodstock complete with naked revelers, into a mud pit, forcing thousands to camp overnight in a Walmart parking lot in Reno until things dry out.

If you’re concerned about scantily clad, poorly dressed people walking the aisles of a Walmart, you haven’t shopped there lately.

Things are heating up: The United Nation’s panel on climate change, in a final draft of its report, reiterated that climate change is a real threat, is caused by humans and may soon be irreversible.

Climate change deniers took the report, thumbed through it, then threw it on the fire with earlier reports that linked smoking to cancer, over-eating to obesity and gravity to falling things.
