How are your neighbors doing?

Talk to your neighbor. All my neighbors were working four years ago.

One neighbor now makes more than in 2008.

Another had his hours cut back 20 percent, but he is happy to be working.

Another was let go and has used all his unemployment benefits and is no longer counted in unemployment figures.

Another was laid off but still has about a year of unemployment benefits.

The last neighbor wanted to work two more years but took an early retirement necessitated by the recession.

You may think we live in a poor, run down area of the county, but on the contrary all these homes are in the Edmonds bowl and have a Sound view.

How is your neighborhood compared to 2008?
