In his July 29 column, Davis Sirota’s statement about Obama daring to repeat the truism that “If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help” is insulting to me and a lot of other businessmen. I have started several business in my lifetime, some successful and some not. No one helped me, I did it myself and I take credit for the ones that succeeded and responsibility for the ones that didn’t quite make it.
Don’t give me that crap that I didn’t do it, and don’t throw in that those roads and bridges helped me. Obviously he has never ventured into business on his own, probably always worked for someone else, so he wouldn’t even know where to start. Let me ask him this, who helped him write this column, or did he come up with it on your own?
