The Supreme Court’s recent upholding of the Affordable Care Act has a lot of positive effects on our access to health care. It also casts a bright light on the serious differences between the major candidates for governor in Washington. Jay Inslee has been in support of greater access to health care all along; he voted for the act that the Supreme Court has upheld. Rob McKenna, on the other hand, wasted our time and resources in fighting against affordable care, even when Gov. Gregoire and other state officials asked him not to oppose the law. Why would we want to elect a governor who’s against accessible health care? That’s like being against mom and apple pie.
