Judge misses forest for trees

Regarding the Thursday article, “Judge orders removal of historic lookout in wilderness”: I have never found it necessary to write the newspaper before, but this is an outrage, that one man should have authority to destroy something so unique, useful and historical.

I’ve never had the pleasure of hiking to the Green Mountain lookout, but many times I have spent the night on Mount Pilchuck and Three Fingers Lookouts, alone, and it’s an experience I’ll remember for a lifetime.

This structure is taking up maybe 900 square feet in a 10,000 square-mile wilderness. I think we could afford to leave it alone!

Tell this judge to get off his duff and take a hike! Then maybe he will have a different opinion!
