Well, Gov. Inslee’s true colors are shining brightly as the tax-and-spend politician that he has been all of his public life. He was very quiet about raising taxes when running for governor, but now that he is in — hide your wallets! Let’s recap his “State of the State” speech. Education — let’s throw millions of more dollars into a system that is top heavy with administrators and is controlled by the teachers’ unions whose last priority is the education and welfare of our students. While we are at it, let’s give free tuition to children of illegal immigrants at taxpayer expense when many middle class parents can’t afford to send their own kids to college.
Transportation — let’s raise taxes so we can pour millions more dollars into our corrupt and inept and wasteful Department of Transportation, i.e., the ferry system, Community Transit, and, of course, the 520 Bridge and viaduct tunnel projects which are boondoggles that will end up costing the taxpayers millions (if not billions) in cost overruns and delays.
The minimum wage — let’s keep raising the minimum wage. Washington is already one of the most unfriendly states regarding small businesses (businesses which do most of the hiring) so why not continue to drive them out of business or out of the state?
A recent letter touted the great economy under the Obama administration. It took me a long time to respond because I was laughing so hard. With real unemployment in the 15 to 18 percent range (most of this affecting young people in their 20s), continuing waste of taxpayer money on bogus “green” companies, the train wreck known as Obamacare, and the beat goes on.
Folks, we need to pull our heads out of the sand. We can choose not to vote for politicians like Inslee and Obama, et al, who look at the average law-abiding, hard-working, tax-paying citizen as an endless source of revenue for their agendas. Can we “just say no”?
