Justice more equal for some than others

Surprise! I learned from the Oct. 30 Herald that Snohomish County District Court Judge Timothy Ryan will not be charged with a DUI. In fact, a WSP spokesman said that there are no plans to cite the judge for any traffic infractions.

Judge Ryan was arrest Aug. 29 for suspected drunken driving while speeding and driving erratically (drifted out of his lane multiple times) along the Bothell-Everett Highway near Mill Creek. The arresting officer reported that Ryan had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and smelled of alcohol. In addition, Judge Ryan lied to the trooper about the type and quantity of alcohol consumed and refused to submit to sobriety testing.

Isn’t America great! Equal justice for all.
