Let big oil pay for our roads

Regarding the article, “Senators propose 12-cent gas tax increase”: How in the world can Congress even consider raising the federal gas tax rate by over 60 percent to 30.4 percent when big oil receives over $7 billion in subsidies? Gas was $1.84 per gallon the month President Obama took office. As of Wednesday, the national average was $3.67. The rich get richer and the poor take another hit as 1st Timothy 6:10 reminds us. “The love of money is the root of all evil.”
