I’m encouraged by the changes in America recently. The woman’s march has translated into a sea change in the specifics of how men treat women, which is appalling and we all know it. To be honest, getting rid of men would put an immediate stop to the gun violence epidemic. I’m encouraged by the need we all see we all have for medical care and the national empathy for those without good care that was demonstrated recently in Maine’s overwhelming vote for Medicaid expansion. I’m encouraged by the falling ratings of Fox News and the overwhelming rejection of the Trump attitude by 18- to 44-year-olds in Virginia.
But, morality in America is still on very shaky round. So many “Christians” in Alabama are twisting their minds into pretzels to stay on Roy Moore’s side as to be an embarrassment to the evangelicals. But the schism in the evangelicals is in itself encouraging. I think America may very well pass the Trump test.
