Thank you for publishing an article about Mukilteo Garden & Quilt Tour. This year’s event was a spectacular success.
When I first received the call from Susan Palmer in 2006 suggesting that Mukilteo Lighthouse Quilters Guild and Mukilteo Way Garden Club get together to put on a tour, I was intrigued with the idea. Neither of us had done such a thing before but enthusiasm pushed us onward. So many details to be figured out! It took a lot of dedicated people to bring the tour to fruition. Since that humble beginning, the event has grown and become more popular.
This year we had folks from Canada, New Mexico, Oregon, California, Florida and Hawaii touring our gardens, admiring our quilts. Many said they’ve come to all our tours. Many, many were first-timers. Just a super tour all round!
I want to thank all the volunteers, quilters and gardeners, as well as our sponsors, who worked so hard to create something wonderful for the public to enjoy.
