Necessary to protest at arena

Even though he agrees with us about the treatment of elephants, a letter writer suggests that elephant advocates not protest at the Ringling Bros. circus but write letters instead. I completely concur that writing letters has an enormous effect and should be done, but a presence at the circus is equally important. The audience that attends the circus are not necessarily the same people who read the Everett Herald.
