I am thankful for the innocent faces and Thanksgiving wisdom of the Pathfinder Kindergarten students. (‘Turkey talk: Kindergartners explain Thanksgiving,” by Caleb Hutton, The Herald, Nov. 23)
We can also be thankful that every child in America gets to go to school. In our world, 263 million children and youth don’t have that opportunity. We can be grateful that America is part of the solution to this problem by supporting the Global Partnership for Education (GPE). Both of our region’s U.S. Reps. Rick Larsen and Suzan DelBene have cosponsored bipartisan House Resolution 466 supporting the GPE.
Now it is time to thank them and ask our senators to cosponsor Senate Resolution 286 that is also bipartisan and supports the GPE’s work. In this way all families in our world will have a chance to see the smiling faces and hear the wisdom of their kindergartners.
