People do, in fact, run red lights

Regarding the Wednesday article, “Lynnwood wants your opinion on traffic cameras”: In this article it says that Lynnwood uses cameras to ticket and fine people who allegedly run red lights. Excuse me, but they do not “allegedly” run red lights, they actually do run red lights. The city has a picture that tells them that they actually do run red lights, or do not make total stops before they make a right turn.

Then the article actually says that “it is cloudy whether the cameras actually prevent injuries or save lives.” Please, people, they do prevent injuries and they do save lives.

Just come down to Lynnwood and see how wonderful they are. If I had young children, I would not hesitate to send them to the store, if needed, because I know cars are much less likely to go through red lights and the children would be safe.

Who cares where the money goes? I just want to be safe and I want my family to be safe.

If you don’t want to pay the fines, then follow the rules. It’s as simple as that.
