Pick one, and let’s stick with it

At last! Someone who agrees with me about getting rid of daylight saving time. (Tuesday editorial, “Abolish daylight saving time.”) There are just so many daylight hours no matter what the clock says. My body clock is out of whack from March through October. However, I would be agreeable to either year-round standard time or year-round daylight saving time. And can someone please explain to me why there is daylight saving time in Alaska? I know Arizona and Hawaii do not have daylight saving time, but I much prefer living right here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
