Price is OK; please leave it alone

It was an outrage to read Thursday’s Northwest Briefly column to see a proposed gas tax increase of 11.5 cents a gallon. Sen. King said, “we think it’s fair and balanced.”

Fair? To whom? We have been lucky to have our gas prices at a reasonable rate, for a change, I might add. A $3 per gallon average is acceptable. Now this “leader” wants to increase it? What a bonehead! Just you wait, we’ll be back up to $4 or more if this goes through.

Please, leave the gas prices alone. Raising them will just make things tougher on people; is that what Washington state is about? God help us!
