In his Oct. 29 guest commentary, “Efforts continue to step back from nuclear brink,” David C. Hall said, “Rep. Rick Larsen .., is a truly committed American citizen at the center of federal decision-making about American security in a dangerous world. We need to support him in working to persuade the international community to abandon this suicidal game of nuclear chicken.”
During the 2016 Primary Election Rick Larsen used his super-delegate vote to contradict almost 80 percent of his constituents. By choosing to represent his party rather than his constituency he added a link to the chain of events that resulted in the election of Donald Trump, a man who, it seems, can’t wait to launch a nuke.
Rick Larsen may have done many good things in the past but handing the nuclear codes to Donald Trump has sabotaged years of nuclear nonproliferation efforts. Rick Larsen’s super-delegate vote was a deal-breaker. We need a new representative for the 2nd Congressional District.
