Richie Rich

Richie Rich

Bill Gates and Warren Buffett held on to their places at the top of Forbes magazine’s 400 richest Americans for the 19th year in a row.

Compiling the Forbes 400 list was really easy this year; the magazine’s editors simply asked for a printout of who’s on Mitt Romney’s speed dial.

He can hear radio through his dental fillings: A Santa Fe, N.M., man failed to convince a judge that his neighbor’s wireless Internet connection caused him physical harm.

The guy’s lawsuit had asked for damages of $1 million — enough, presumably, for a lifetime supply of tin foil for his protective headgear and window coverings.

That’s a lot of crab legs: For the nation’s commercial fishermen, 2011 was the best year since the catch of 1994. The busiest fishing port by volume was Dutch Harbor, Alaska.

In fact, Dutch Harbor’s fishing fleet had such a financially successful year that the most tense moment on Season Nine of “The Deadliest Catch” will be when Capt. Sig Hansen tries to decide whether to order the chrome package on his new F-250.
