Amidst the noise generated by labor negotiations and the familiar sound of Boeing threats to send work elsewhere, comes Friday’s news that Air India has taken delivery of the first 787 assembled at Boeing’s new Charleston, S.C. plant. It seems somehow fitting, that the first of these non-union planes should be sold to a country so notorious for worker exploitation.
