Regarding the letter to editor about the non-existence of one-floor type housing in Snohomish County. We have been looking, with an agent, on and off now, for just such a nice house, or townhouse, or condo, for over a year, preferably a new or newer unit, either in or around Everett, on or near good bus service and on one floor. Also, 55 plus would be a real plus for us retirees and you would think these type units would be in demand for all the baby boomers who are entering the market.
We have many friends who live in these type of units in other towns in the Puget Sound area, so we know they exist. Zero lot line townhouses would be an example of this type of housing, especially where property values make multiple units the only viable alternative. High rise condos would offer the same one-floor alternative.
We know that a developer has plans to build some type of development along the river in Everett but those plans have been in the works for how long now, and we still have no good idea when that project will even start or what it will contain housing wise. The demand is there. Where is the product?
