This bill stinks
Who let a skunk into the mailbox? In their October bills Puget Sound Energy customers will receive a scratch-and-sniff pamphlet with a rotten egg smell. The pamphlet is intended to help customers identify the rotten-egg smell of natural gas so they can detect potential leaks.
The pamphlet also should be useful in educating young adults who are moving out on their own about the odor that indicates it’s time to clean out the fridge.
Try the gray stuff; it’s delicious: Breaking a 41-year-long drought, Disney announced it will serve alcohol at a Magic Kingdom restaurant in Orlando, Fla. Beer and wine will be available at the Be Our Guest restaurant, which takes its theme from the enchanted tableware and furniture in Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.”
Guests will be cut off, however, when the goblets, candlesticks and plates begin singing and dancing.
Taking a poke at voting: A study of voting by Facebook users in 2010 shows that people who read Facebook posts that their friends had voted were more likely to go to the polls than those who didn’t see the same reminder.
Yet to be studied is how many people were discouraged from voting by Facebook friends who wouldn’t stop posting political rants.
