Boeing’s ETD (estimated time of departure) from our state is now in the works. The 787-10 will be built and assembled in South Carolina.
The bottom line is the “Bottom Line.” This 787-10 will now be the new “cash cow,” not the 747. Boeing can build this same airplane in South Carolina and build it for less. That’s just business. Boeing headquarters moved to Chicago, then they built an assembling plant outside Washington. Does any one in Olympia see a pattern? Our Senate Commerce and Labor Committee need their eyes opened. They need to help Boeing’s bottom line and create a business environment that allows them to stay put in our state.
It is now time for Olympia to give back. When Boeing departs and with “wheels up,” leaves our state, the loss, the impact, cannot be measured. Our state will never be the same.
